Censorship is ever-shifting. What is accepted today may be silenced tomorrow as cultural values shift and "norms" evolve. Highlighting the New York Public Library’s rich archives, offer a lens for visitors to explore and interact with past and present restrictions on information.

CHALLENGE

Challenge visitors to think critically about the fluidity of morality and the social influence behind censorship. Demonstrate the impact of censorship in shaping knowledge, history, and cultural narratives.

OBJECTIVE

Create an experience that encourages visitors to consider their role in shaping intellectual freedom. Empower visitors to find clarity between blurry lines and reclaim the knowledge that threatens to be silenced.
